ABOUT OUR SUMMER CAMP

Tar Heel Field Hockey Summer Camps are designed for the intermediate to elite player. Each session is an intensive 3 day, 6 session camp which offers top-notch instruction and attention. We train fundamental skills and techniques for stick work; receiving and distributing the ball; goal-scoring; defense; offense; and the basic to elite concepts of the game. Game-like situations and drills will also be used to put these techniques into practice. Campers are divided by age and skill levels to provide the appropriate learning environment.

This year, you’ll be coached by the outstanding NATIONAL CHAMPIONS and the National Championship Coaching Staff, so you will learn the BEST from the BEST. We are also thrilled to have outstanding High School coaches, Collegiate coaches, US National Team members, and former Carolina Field Hockey Alumni join us to create a favorable and very low camper-to-counselor ratio.

We’ll spend time together making memories off the pitch as well by giving you the chance to ask what’s on your mind, see the beautiful campus of UNC Chapel Hill, hang out in the prettiest locker room in the country, and so much more. Tar Heel Field Hockey camps are camps that emphasize enjoying and appreciating the game while giving you the resources to improve your game. Each year we strive to make our camp better and better, to be the best in the country and to set the standard for an overnight field hockey camp in America.

Come train with the best, be coached by the best, and leave closer to YOUR best.

Tar Heel Field Hockey Clinic is open to any and all, limited only in age, grade level, gender, and/or number

UNC will run 2 sessions of camp over the month of July

Date: July 1st - 3rd, 2024

Ages: For intermediate to elite players. Open to individuals and teams in Grades 9-12 (girls)
*Special exceptions to those younger (7th & 8th graders) who are mature enough to travel to camp

Cost: $625

*Rather than separate registrations this year for teams and individuals, we will be requiring all campers to register as individuals. You will have a chance in your online registration to state if you are attending camp with your high school or club team, and the Tar Heel Field Hockey staff will ensure that you are paired up with your teammates. Thank you for your cooperation as we look to make our processes more efficient to provide a better experience for you and our staff. Any questions may always be sent to tarheelfh@gmail.com

*All campers who are not traveling with a high school or club team will be placed on camp teams for practice and game sessions - if a camper has a requested roommate we will also do our best to make sure both campers are on the same camp team; all campers who do note that they are part of a high school or club team will be placed on a camp team with their high school or club teammates for the entirety of camp

(A online convenience fee will be added upon registration)

Travel: Campers are expected to arrange their own travel to and from Chapel Hill. During your time at camp, your meals and lodging will be taken care of.

If you are an international player who is interested in attending Summer Camp, please email tarheelfh@gmail.com prior to registering.

Locations/Facilities:

Check-In / Check-Out (Craig Residence Hall)
July 1st Check In: 10am-1pm
July 3rd Check Out: noon-1pmm

During the registration process, you will have the opportunity to request a roommate (2 campers per room). Please request only ONE roommate - if you request more than one, only your fist-typed roommate will be acknowledged. Please also communicate with your requested roommate prior to registering so that requests match - if they do not match, we cannot guarantee you will be roomed together. If a camper is on their own, we will room said camper with a roommate of similar age. Roommates must be requested at least 1 month prior to your camp session.

Between sessions, your coach will access the needs/wants of your team and decide what to do until the next session begins. Usually, campers like to head back to the dorm, relax in their room, hang out at the stadium, spend time with the coaches, or take a walk to Franklin Street. A staff member is always in the lobby of Craig Residence Hall and coaches are responsible for walking campers to and from the field, dorm, bookstore, FroYo, etc. No camper is allowed to ever walk somewhere alone.
